The 2014 Chevy Silverado has only been out for a short while, but drivers, journalists, and automotive experts are already taking notice.
Consumer Reports, one of the most influential publications for product ratings, released their list of the best trucks on the market, with the 2014 Chevy Silverado sitting at the top.
This marks the 2nd time in recent months that a Chevy has been at the top of a Consumer Reports list.
The Chevy Silverado Takes the Top Spot
The testers gave the all-new Silverado a great score, largely because of the truck’s excellent marks in hauling capability, and cargo space.
The publication gave points to the 2014 Silverado for its easy-to-use tailgate and in-bumper steps, which make getting into and out of the truck bed quicker and easier.
Consumer Reports also found that the Silverado picked up 16 miles-per-gallon combined, best among the trucks that were tested.
The Second Chevy to Score Big This Year
GM must be doing something right, because Consumer Reports has a newfound respect for Chevrolet products. In the past they have typically given better scores to German and Japanese cars, but the redesigned 2014 Chevy Impala scored better than any other sedan.
The smooth ride, plush interior, and powerful engine helped the 2014 Chevy Impala climb to the top of the rankings with a 92 out of 100, the best score a sedan has ever received!
