2014 Chevy Impala Scoring Along Side Extravagant Vehicles

95 out of 100 puts the 2014 Impala in the big leagues with luxury sedans and super-cars.

According to Automotive News, only two vehicles have scored better than the 2014 Chevy Impala: the Tesla Model S and the BMW 135i, while the Infiniti G37 tied the 2014 Impala.

While we can’t deny that these cars are terrific, it is obvious to point out the price differences between the Impala and other top-scorers. Consumer Reports notes that the 2014 Impala competes with cars that are regularly priced $20,000 more.

Take a look at how the top-scoring cars compare on MSRP:

Consumer Reports Not the Only Group Noticing 2014 Chevrolet Impala

The 2014 Chevrolet Impala is getting great reviews from other publications too. Whether it’s the strong performance, roomy and functional interior, or the gorgeous exterior design, The Wall Street Journal, Car and Driver, and Autoweek are also getting in on the fun.

Accelerating onto the highway, the engine spools up joyfully and the six-speed automatic shuffles ratios firmly and discretely. Zero-to-60-mph pace is in the mid 7’s but the car is stronger overall than that.

-Wall Street Journal

The long roof sweep, the extended seat travel, and the carved-out front-bucket backrests yield limolike legroom.

- Car and Driver

It’s nice looking to my eye. John Cafaro, a guy who consistently cranks out some of GM’s best stuff, did the exterior and did it well.

About Consumer Reports Scoring

Consumer Reports first gave scores to vehicles in 1992. Unlike many other review publications, Consumer Reports purchases its own products, as opposed to accepting review-ready samples from manufacturers and suppliers.

This helps Consumer Reports make honest assessments of real-world products, and has helped them become one of the most successful and trusted sources for consumer information.
