GM has unveiled the 2015 Chevy Silverado HD, including 2500 and 3500 models at the Texas State Fair, giving the public a first look at the redesigned heavy-duty truck.

The 2015 Silverado, along with its cousin the 2015 Sierra HD, keeps the powerful engines that have made it so popular, while getting a new exterior design and upgraded interior.

Fresh Exterior: The 2015 Silverado 2500HD and 3500 HD received a complete over-haul of the exterior design.

The front end is more aerodynamic, and the doors are no inlaid into the body to reduce wind noise. Torsion bars allow a gentle open of the tailgate while steps built into the rear bumper allow for easy access into the bed.

Quieter, More Refined Interior: GM recognizes that while the true purpose of a heavy-duty truck is strength and hauling, drivers still want comfort, convenience, and functionality from the vehicle’s interior.

The quieter and more refined interior starts with the triple-sealed doors and sound-deadening materials in the floor. These work in conjunction to lock out road noise and create a more peaceful ride.

Chevy MyLink will come standard on most models, giving drivers navigation and information that will be effective in work related tasks and every-day driving.

Don’t Forget the Engines: Of course, you can’t have a discussion about heavy-duty trucks without talking about the engines.

As the saying goes, if ain’t broke, don’t fix it, so the 2015 Silverado 2500HD and 3500HD will have the same powerful engines from the previous models.

The first choice will be 6.0L V8. The 6.6L Duramax turbodiesel will also be available.
