Chevrolet Sweeps North American Car/Truck of the Year Awards

Chevrolet has made a clean sweep of the North American Car and Truck of the Year awards, with the 2014 Corvette Stingray and Silverado 1500 being the big winners. This marks the first time Chevy has swept the awards.

The Chevy Silverado earned the Truck of the Year for the first time since 2007, while the Corvette last earned Car of the Year in 1998.

2014 Chevy Spark Earns Top Safety Pick Award

The 2014 Chevy Spark has been named a Top Safety Pick by the Insurance Institute for Highway Safety.

In its first year of eligibility, the Spark became the only vehicle in the minicar segment to earn the rating.

The Spark used a combination of high-strength steel and advanced safety features to become certified as the safest minicar on the road.

Explaining the “Ackermann Effect” in the 2014 Corvette Stingray

If you take the all-new Stingray for a drive, you may notice something before you even leave the parking lot. This little something may seem like a defect, but it’s not.

It’s called the “Ackermann Effect”, and although the issue was resolved 200 years ago, Chevy left it alone on the Corvette.

The reason? It’s the same reason the Corvette has a 50/50 weight distribution  and electric power steering: performance.

Video: 2014 Chevy Camaro Z/28 Lapping the Famous Nurburgring Track

Last week Chevrolet revealed a video of the all-new 2014 Chevrolet Camaro Z/28 lapping Germany’s Nurburgring road course, one of the best-known and most challenging race tracks in the world.

The Camaro Z/28 ran the course in 7:37.4, a time that puts it alongside the world’s most prominent performance vehicles.
