Just a couple days ago, we reported that General Motors will expand their fuel-efficient fleet options.

Now GM Chairman Dan Akerson has announced a bi-fuel version of the 2015 Chevy Impala, which will be capable of using Compressed Natural Gas (CNG) or conventional gasoline at the push of a button.

Akerson made the announcement at an energy summit in Washington, D.C.

GM’s OnStar system helps stop car thieves 5-7 times a month

It’s been five years since GM launched OnStar’s Stolen Vehicle Slowdown (SVS) tool, but it still remains one of the most effective systems for stopping thieves, literally and figuratively.

According to a press release from GM, the tool has stopped a car thief almost 250 times since being launched, using the system’s Stolen Vehicle Assistance tools.

General Motors Partners with U.S. Military for Fuel Cell Technology

General Motors, maker of Chevrolet vehicles, is teaming up with the U.S. Army Tank Automotive Research, Development & Engineering Center (TARDEC) to develop hydrogen fuel cell technology.

Through the collaboration, GM and TARDEC will work together to test new hydrogen fuel cell material and designs and evaluate their performance and durability before putting them into full-scale production.

Seven GM Facilities Recieve Environmental and Community Honors

GM, the maker of Chevrolet cars, trucks, and SUVs, has been recognized by the Michigan Department of Environmental Quality for environmentally-focused community involvement.

Seven of GM’s facilities, including assembly plants and engine and transmission factories, were given the Neighborhood Environmental Partner (NEP) award, which encourages and honors business and neighbors to work together on sustainability and conservation projects.
