The Geneva Motor Show is a popular place for automakers like Chevrolet to reveal new models, exciting advancements in technology and more. This year is no exception, as Chevrolet unveiled the 2014 Corvette Stingray convertible at the European automotive show!
The ragtop convertible features an electronically-controlled roof which can be raised and lowered while the car is in motion, unlike many convertibles. The roof can be adjusted at speeds up to 30 miles an hour.
Under the hood, the 2014 Corvette Stingray convertible features a 6.2-liter V8 engine, dubbed the LT1, which provides the car with an estimated 450 horsepower.
Power isn’t the only thing the LT1 engine provides the convertible with. It also improves performance and fuel-efficiency by combining several advanced technologies, like direct fuel injection, continuously variable valve timing and an Active Fuel Management system. Chevrolet expects the car’s fuel-economy rating to beat the current model’s 26 MPG.
Both the 2014 Chevrolet Corvette Stingray coupe and convertible models will be available worldwide later this year.
