Chevy continues to accelerate their performance capabilities. Vehicles like the redesigned Corvette Stingray and Camaro ZL1 are defining a new era of sports cars.

But Chevy isn’t sitting still. Just this week, the brand unveiled two high-performance versions of the Corvette. One is a supercar-level production vehicle, and the other is Chevy’s high-performance race car.

2015 Chevrolet Corvette Z06

Chevrolet Corvette Z06Chevy is calling this vehicle “the closest link yet between Corvettes built for racing and the road”. With amazing horsepower, torque, handling, and grip, it’s easy to see why Chevy is so excited about the all-new Z06.

The Z06 will be available with both an automatic and manual transmission.

Engineered with a light-weight and rigid frame, carbon-fiber hood, and removable carbon-fiber roof panel, the 2015 Corvette Z06 establishes what Chevrolet engineers are capable of.

The 2015 Corvette Z06 gets its power from an all-new 6.2L supercharged V8 engine that delivers 625 horsepower and 635 lb-ft of torque. This puts the Z06 in supercar territory, challenging even the best performance vehicles from America, Germany, Japan, and Italy.

It’s the most track-capable production Corvette ever, with world-class power and torque. It has incredible aerodynamic down force, superior traction and grip, and driver technologies that keep the cockpit fully-connected to the vehicle’s performance.

According to General Motors Executive VP Mark Ruess, thanks to meticulous engineering, the new Z06 creates the most aerodynamic downforce of any production car ever tested by GM.

“The 2015 Corvette Z06 is truly a world-class supercar. It rivals the performance, design, technology, and visceral driving experience of any exotic car.” – Mark Ruess, General Motors Executive VP

2015 Chevrolet Corvette C7.R

C7.R Corvette RacecarAt the same event that saw the debut of the Z06 also witnessed the debut of the 2015 Corvette C7.R, Chevy’s brand-new racecar.

Both the C7.R and the Z06 share a common structure, with improved handling and superior grip, helping both vehicles achieve their track-oriented goals.

According to Dan Amman, President of GM, the fuel-saving technology used in the Z06 will be transferred into the C7.R, allowing the racecar to shave pit stops and essential time from a car.

When it comes to racing, Chevrolet is top dog. In 2013 Chevy won the manufacturer’s championship in NASCAR, Indy Car, American La Mons, Grand Am, and the World Challenge, and the 2015 Corvette Z06 will help the brand continue its dominance.

Take a look at the premier of the Corvette Z06 and C7.R:
