With the Daytona 500 less than a month away, Chevy fans are anxiously awaiting the arrival of the Chevy SS on the racetrack.

This marks a significant change for NASCAR and for Chevy, and considering that not too long ago the SS was only a concept, we at McGrath Auto can’t wait for the first appearance of the SS. Soon thereafter, we’ll be awaiting the arrival of the Chevy SS on our lot.

Chevy and NASCAR Fans Awaiting the Chevrolet SS

NASCAR is calling their new generation of cars “Gen 6”, and NASCAR fans are excited about the new cars. The previous NASCAR racers were known as “the car of tomorrow”, and, to be completely honest, they were a flop. Other than the brand logo and car name, the cars of tomorrow were totally identical; at high speeds, you couldn’t tell a Dodge from a Chevy from a Ford.

The new cars will have their own distinction. The Chevrolet SS will look very similar the SS rolling the streets, Ford Fusion racer will resemble its citizen counterpart.

Because Dodge dropped out of competition, there are only three manufacturers left in NASCAR: Chevrolet (SS), Ford (Fusion), and Toyota (Camry).

Historically, Chevy has dominated the NASCAR circuit, with far more champions than any other producer.

The Chevy SS is going to provide Chevy fans with a performance vehicle that will be fast, sporty, and powerful. While nothing is certain at this time, the 2014 Chevrolet SS will likely feature a similar drivetrain the 2014 Chevrolet Corvette Stingray, which houses a 6.2L V8.
