EPA estimates put the Chevy Volt’s gas-free range at 90 MPGe, and Volt owners are consistently achieving, and surpassing, that mark.
According to General Motors, Volt owners who regularly charge their carss achieve about 900 miles between fill-ups, saving an average of $1,300 a year. Some Volt drivers have even reported achieving 9,000-10,000 miles between trips to the gas station!
MPGe is a measure of the average distance traveled per unit of energy, giving auto makers and officials a way to compare different energy sources, such as comparing gas engines to electric charges.
According to GM, Volt owners have totaled 150 million all-electric miles, about the distance from Earth to Mars!
We’ve seen and heard from our Volt owners that they are achieving fantastic performance numbers with their vehicle as many are beating the EPA label estimates
– Cristi Landy, Chevrolet Volt Marketing Director
During the first 38 miles after a full charge, the Volt can drive completely gas-free and emission free. When the Volt’s battery runs low, the car seamlessly transitions into the gas-powered generator to deliver another 344 miles on a full tank.
The Chevy Volt is America’s most popular hybrid, and one of the most popular vehicles in the country.
According to Consumer Reports’ annual survey, Volt drivers are the most satisfied car-owners in the country. 92% of Volt owners said they would purchase their Volt again, marking the 2nd year in a row that the Volt has topped this survey.
With excellent fuel-efficiency and an incredible gas-free range, the Volt has been at the top of the American auto market for years.
