The 2014 Corvette Stingray made a huge splash at the North American International Auto Show in Detroit last month, and the automotive world is still swimming in the wake made by the new Corvette’s debut.
After a quick pause, Chevy is turning around quickly to unveil the 2014 Corvette Stingray convertible in at the Geneva Auto Show in March.
While no exact photos are given out, one image has been circulating that given speculation to the looks of the upcoming ‘Vette exterior.
It may be a little surprising to see the new version coming out so soon. Many experts expected the hardtop Corvette to sit alone in the spotlight a bit longer.
However, the last time Chevy rolled out an all-new Corvette, the 6th generation in 2004, it was also unveiled in Detroit followed by a convertible shown in Geneva in March.
No matter what it ultimately looks like, the 2014 Corvette convertible will share the hardtop’s 6.2L V8 with direct injection and cylinder deactivation.
This engine throws out an estimated 450 hp. With a lighter carbon body frame and an improved interior, the 2014 Corvette deserves the attention its getting.
Given the incredible impression made by the 7th generation of the Corvette, a Corvette convertible model is going to make people really start talking. If the 2014 Chevy Corvette Stingray convertible looks anything like this rendering, then it will make a perfect companion to the hardtop version.
