The automotive world is clamoring about the 2014 Chevy Corvette Stingray, due to hit stores this summer. The new Corvette hogged the attention at the North American International Auto Show in January and has since been one of the most talked about topics for car journalist and enthusiasts alike.
Last week the last 2013 Corvette rolled off the assembly line in Bowling Green, Kentucky, officially ending the reign of the 6th generation.
The white 2013 Corvette was the last of 13,466 created. The plant in Bowling Green created over 215,000 6th generation Corvettes.

The sports car, which has a 7.0L V-8, is being sent to the General Motors Heritage Collection in the Detroit area. It will be raffled off by the National Corvette Museum in May along with many other fellow Corvettes.
The sixth generation Corvette ran for nine years (2005-2013) and featured new bodywork that varied from the 5th generation. It had a longer wheelbase but the overall width and length were actually smaller than the 2004 models.
The C6 received a refresher in 2008, with mild changes to the powertrain and updates to the interior.
500 employees of the Bowling Green plant gathered for a short ceremony commemorating the end of the C6 era after the last 2013 Corvette was finished. Less than half an hour later, the workers were busy dismantling the assembly line to get ready for the 2014 Corvette Stingray.
It won’t be long, and the new Corvettes will be filling lots all across America.
